What Is Christian Life Coaching?
When a loved one is battling an eating disorder, families often face immense challenges and uncertainty. It’s difficult to know what support and guidance to give from a biblical perspective. Let’s explore how faith can be a powerful source of strength as you support your loved one’s journey to recovery.

Supporting Your Loved One with Faith:
Discover how faith can play a pivotal role in providing comfort and guidance to your loved one. Did you know that Eating Disorders are mentioned, specifically in the Bible? Check out Psalms 107: 18-21: “They loathed all food and drew near the gates of death. They they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent out his word and healed them; he reduced them from the grave. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.” Praying with your loved one, being supportive during meals, and realizing that this is not going to be a ‘quick fix’ are all very important when you think about how to biblically support your loved one.
How to Offer Help to Someone Struggling:
Supporting a loved one with an eating disorder can be challenging, but your presence and care make a significant difference. Loved ones may push you away at first, but just keep showing up, empathetically. It’s important to recognize the tone in your voice. Remember that the Eating Disorder is in the ‘driver’s seat’ of their minds, so it is hard to talk to the ‘real them’ through it. Keep talking to that inner loved one though. They are there and they are listening.
Resources for Families:
I am currently working on a free book for families, but until then, please educate yourself as much as you can on your loved one’s diagnosis. Do not ignore it. Do not think that it is going to go away. Pray over it daily, be supportive, and if you feel like you need to, reach out to me and we will come up with a plan, together, to help your loved one. You don’t have to face this journey alone. We invite you to schedule a confidential call with us to discuss your unique challenges and receive guidance on supporting your loved one. We’re here to help you find strength in your faith. God is with you, Mighty Warrior.
