Mother’s day is right around the corner. While not a mother myself, I have an amazing mom. She is so supportive, loving and caring to all of those around her, not just her immediate family.

When I think about mother’s day gifts, I always think of something that is a treat for her, as well as something useful that she wouldn’t buy for herself. My mom may be a lot different than most, but she would love a really awesome vacuum for a gift! She has been talking about one for years and refuses to get it for herself. I would pair that vacuum with a great piece of jewelry and a thoughtful card.

For this gift guide, I am breaking down the gifts into 2 categories: a useful need and a amazing want. Be open minded! I’ve given you some different price point options. Any of these useful gifts would pair GREAT with a want gift. My recommendation is to get one from each category. BUT, if you only have to get one, go with the want category.

Useful Needs Gifts

If your mom likes to cook like mine does, you may have been eyeing my next recommendation! This one gadget seems to do it all! It’s pricey, but VERY useful for the cook in your life.

My mom has wanted this Dyson Vacuum for a while It’s been on her list of things that she REALLY wants! I know that it goes against a lot of ‘rules’ about mothers day. BUT, I think if it is paired with a want gift OR if your mom enjoys really useful things, then I think it’s okay. I know that personally, my mom would be thrilled.

This waffle maker is AMAZING! Get her to give up that cheap one that she got years ago. This one will make her already delcious waffles even better.

Hear me out before you come for me in the comments about this one! These Laundry baskets are AWESOME. They are durable and easy to hold. This is a 6-pack of laundry baskets. Now… I wouldn’t JUST give her these. I would put a small gift inside each one. Such as a box of chocolates, a magazine subscription (see below!), a cookbook or a good novel (see below!). Laundry baskets are used by moms almost daily and getting her nice one that aren’t falling apart is a VERY sweet gesture. Because NICE durable laundry baskets are not something that women are likely going to spend money on.

Amazing Gifts she WANTS

If you have a mother that likes to entertain, she will LOVE this board! It comes with it’s own knife set! Best part? This gift is under $50!

These bar necklaces are so adorable. They go with any and every outfit. I love that you can engrave these with names, as well as messages. The customizable options are endless. These are $25.35!

My mother is a cookbook ‘collector’. There is nothing that she enjoys more than looking through recipes. This one is sure to bring her joy! When I give my mom a cookbook, I always write a note in the front cover to her- telling her how much I love her. This is a great way to personalize a gift!

Subscription boxes are the gift that just keeps on giving! Personally, I really look forward to getting these every month! There seems to be a subscription box for everyone out there. Here are the ones that I think mom’s would like most: Therabox ($35 first month, $40 a month after), Succulant Studios ($9 for first month, $16 a month after), Simple Loose Leaf Tea ($6.50 for your first month, $12.99 each month after), and FaceTory (under $10 monthly)

My mom and I LOVE magazines. Need a really cheap gift? Get her a magazine subscription! This would also be a great add on to any gift mentioned here. Magazine subscriptions on Amazon are so cheap! My picks are Real Simple, Better Homes and Gardens, All Recipes and Good Housekeeping. Magazines may be ‘old fashioned’ but there is something about physically holding a magazine and reading it that is awesome. These subscriptions are $5–$7 for a YEAR right now!

I hope that these ideas have inspired you to get something awesome and useful for your mom this mothers day!
